By Air

The states- Assam, Manipur, Nagaland, and Tripura are well – connected by straight flights from Kolkata along with Delhi and also Kolkata. Northeast India trips usually land in Silchar and Dibrugarh airport in Assam. The airport in Guwahati – The Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport is connected to major cities of India. There are some helicopter services available to reach Aizwal and Naharlagun from the corresponding places.

By Road

The National Freeways 31,37,38 and 40 link Assam to some important cities of India. Several buses ply from Siliguri to Sikkim, Assam, and Gangtok. The road to the North-Eastern states is much more convenient in most of the parts.

By Train

Important cities of India have good connectivity by train to Arunachal Pradesh and Assam. Naharlagun is the most important station in Arunachal Pradesh. Guwahati, Lumding, Bongaigaon, Dibrugarh, and Tinsukia are some important stations in Assam. Rajdhani Express, North-East Express, and Brahmaputra Mail range from Delhi to North- East India. Mizoram does not have any rail web links. Kumarghat is the nearest and closest rail station to enter Tripura. After reaching the railway station one can hire taxis to reach their destination.
