The Lonavala railway station is the major junction of the Mumbai-Pune railway route and falls almost midway and therefore all the trains travelling from Mumbai to Pune and vice-versa stops at Lonavala.

Best time to visit
The best time to explore Lonavala is from December to February as the weather is quite salubrious and very apt for sightseeing.
The months from March to June are the summer months with the temperature going up to 35°C. The weather remains very hot. Avoid this season for sightseeing.
July till September is witnessed with the monsoon season. The rains are torrential. The rain makes the lush greenery of the hill station stand out against the rocky surfaces and makes it much mesmerizing.
The months from October to February are considered to be the winter months with the temperature ranges between 11 to 25°C and is the peak season for exploring Lonavala.
