Khajuraho

Khajuraho is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is situated in Madhya Pradesh. It is a group of Hindu temples and Jain temples in Chhatarpur district of Madya Pradesh and is a fantastic example of Indian architecture. Raneh Falls

Raneh Falls is situated at a distance of 20kms from Khajuraho. It is truly a mesmerizing natural waterfall over river Ken. One can find the numerous small and big waterfalls emerging from this gorge that is collectively called Raneh Falls.

Adinath temple

Adinath Temple is a Jain temple devoted to the Jain God Tirthankar. It beautifully showcases the exquisitely sculpted figures, including the Yakshis. It is indeed a very stunning Jain temple in Madhya Pradesh.

Chaturbhuj Temple

Chaturbhuj temple is located in the Jatakari village of Khajuraho and is also known as the Jatakari temple. Enshrined by Lord Vishnu, the temple is rectangular. This shrine is built on a raised platform. Numerous pilgrims visit this temple throughout the year.

Plan a trip to Khajuraho and have some surreal experiences. Attend the Light and Sound Show at Khajuraho that in itself offers a memorable experience. Pay a visit to the beautiful Dulhadev temple that was built in the year 1130. The temple holds the pretty sculpture of Lord Shiva with Goddess Parvati. It is known for its architecture. Another famous temple is the Kandariya Mahadev temple that was built in 1025 -1050AD. It has the pretty frescoes of women in various postures adorning the walls of this temple. It is one of the astounding sites in Khajuraho. Head towards Vishwanath temple, devoted to Lord Shiva. It is among the western group of temples. This temple has a pretty marble Shivalinga as the main deity.

One may even witness the massive sculpture of Nandi Bull alongside the Shivalingam. Pay a visit to the Chitragupta temple that is enshrined by Sun God- Surya and was built in the 11th century. The exterior walls of this temple have the carvings of many gods and erotic couples. 

Apart from the temples, travellers can head towards the State Museum of Tribal and Folk Art that is housed with the Chandela Cultural Complex in Khajuraho. Best time to visit

The perfect time to visit Khajuraho is from October to February as the weather is quite salubrious and very apt for sightseeing.

Summer

The months from April to June are the summer months with the temperature reaches up to  47°C. The weather remains hot and dry. Avoid this season as it leaves one dehydrated.

Monsoon

July till September is witnessed with the monsoon season. The weather remains humid and should be avoided for sightseeing. Adventure activities are shut down during monsoon hence trekking or leisure strolls is a tedious task.

Winter

The months from October to March are considered to be the winter months with the temperature going down to 4°C. Visit in February to attend the famous Khajuraho Dance festival that is celebrated every year with great pomp and show.
