Dwarka

Dwarka is an ancient city of India. It is labeled as the Devbhoomi Dwarka. Dwarka is the only city that is part of both Char Dham and Sapta Puris-seven sacred cities, mentioned in the Hindu religion. It is nestled on the western tip of the Saurashtra peninsula in Gujarat.

Dwarkadhish Temple

Dwarkadhish temple or Jagat Mandir is a Chalukya styled architecture and is devoted to Lord Krishna. Dwarka has its history dated back to the kingdom of Dwaraka in Mahabharata. The devotees are expected to take a dip in the Gomti river before proceeding into the temple through the Swarg Dwar.

Sudama Setu

Sudama Setu bridge is an astounding suspension bridge constructed for pedestrians to cross the river Gomti. It is named after Sudama, Lord Krishana’s childhood friend. This bridge connects the ancient Jagat temple and the sacred Panchkui Teerth on the island that is associated with the legendary Pandava brothers.

ISKCON

ISKCON temple is located on Devi road and is yet another manifestation of Krishna Consciousness. This temple holds the idols of Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha draped in rich attires and ornated flowers and is an entirely stone-built temple.

Best time to visit Dwarka

The best time to explore Dwarka is from November to February as the weather is quite salubrious and very apt for sightseeing. If one was to celebrate the Janmashtami festival here then can come here in August and September.

Summer

The months from March to June are the summer months with the temperature going up to 42°C. The weather remains very hot. Avoid this season for sightseeing.

Monsoon

July till September is witnessed with monsoon season with the temperature ranging between 27 to 35°C. It increases the humidity during the day time but the nights are cooler during the monsoon season.

Winter

The months from October to February are considered to be the winter months with the temperature ranging between 9 to 34°C and it is the peak season for exploring Dwarka. Visit this place in November as this month is popular for Dwarkadeesh pilgrimage trip.
