Yamunotri is located at an altitude of 3,291 m which is at a good height so it receives heavy snowfall in a good amount. Due to the Snowfall, the temple remains closed and the Doli of Goddess Yamuna shifts downwards in Kharsali village. Trek for Yamunotri Dham starts from Hanuman Chatti which is almost 7 km of distance. You can cover this distance by trekking as the roads are quite smooth but if you don’t want to trek then you can take Poney and Doli service or can also take a stick to cover the distance.
While making a trip to Chardham you have to take the most extreme consideration of your effects as there is a colossal crown going on Chardham yatra and during the blustery season, there is a significant avalanche while in transit to Yamunotri so it is advised not to design an outing during that time.
Yamunotri can be visited by helicopter from Dehradun's Sahastradhara helipad you will fly to the Kharsali helipad and start there, the trek of 6 Km is there which can be secured by trekking or utilizing Doli.
It's very important to take the knowledge of roads before going to the hilly area.
