Trek to the Flowery Heaven- Valley of Flowers

Valley of Flowers is like a beautiful bouquet of Flowers from nature which is located in the western Himalayan region of Uttarakhand. To reach there you need to do trekking and cross the Pushpawati river, bridges, glaciers, dense forests and waterfalls. Valley of Flowers is also a UNESCO world heritage site and it was declared so in the year 2005. Here one can find the endemic alpine Flowers, many meadows blossom, and other diverse fauna. Valley of Flowers is also declared as National Park in the year 1982. It is located at an elevation of 3658 meters in Bhundar valley. This valley of Flowers is spread over the area of 87.5 sq km in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. The length and width of the national park are 8km and 2 km respectively. Valley of Flowers is also considered as the second core zone of Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve. Ghangaria is the trekking path which is at a distance of 14 km from Govindghat. From Ghangariya there is a trek of 3km towards Valley of Flowers. There are more than 500 species of flowers that bloom in the Valley of Flowers according to their blooming months.

Valley of Flowers Trek and fees

Valley of flowers is one of the best options for trek lovers to enjoy this adventure in the lap of nature in Uttarakhand. The trek for the valley of flowers starts from Govind ghat or Pulna village, after that, you will cross a bridge over the Alakhnanda River. The zig-zag and some straight path will lead you towards the valley of flowers. The exciting part of the trek will start from Pulna village. From this village, you will be able to have a view of the snow-clad mountains. Then as you will move 7 km forward from Pulna you will reach Bhyundar Village which is having a splendid view of nature. Here you will see wild shrubs of roses and Rhododendrons, the complete area is covered with pink and dark red flowers. You will also find some small tea stalls where you can relax and get refreshed for a while. After relaxing your trek will again start on the right bank of the Laxman Ganga river. After you cross it and reach the left bank from that point the trekking will become harder. Then you will be trekking for 2 km on very steep land and will reach Ghangharia. From Ghangariya the trek divides into two-path one leads towards the valley of flowers and the other one leads to the Sikh pilgrimage site that is Hemkund Sahib.
