1. Dal Lake

Jamia Masjid is one of the holiest Islamic shrines in India and is located in Srinagar. It was built in 1400 AD, under the patronage of Sultan Sikander. Later his son- Zain-ul-Abidin started the renovation and extension of the masjid. The Masjid beautifully showcases Indo-Saracenic architecture.

It has marvelous 370 intricately carved wooden pillars that enhance the prettiness of this masjid. It also has a square shape garden that is lying in the center of the masjid and can be used as a prayer space.  

5. Pari Mahal

The Pari Mahal or the Palace of Fairies is a seven-terraced garden, constructed at an elevation and is situated at the top of the Zarbarwan mountain range in Srinagar and provides fantastic views of the beautiful Dal Lake. The garden has a splendid velvety green garden.

The Pari Mahal holds historic importance that is older than the Mughal era. This beautiful place was first a beautiful monastery for the Buddhists then after some time, it became the learning institute for Emperor Shah Jahan’s son- Dara. The view from each terrace just spellbound its visitors.  

6. Shalimar Bagh

Shalimar Bagh or garden is a Mughal garden constructed on the periphery of Dal Lake in Srinagar. It was built by Shehenshah Jahangir to please his Queen Noor Jahan. This beautiful garden has pretty trees on the sides and a pristine canal flowing through the middle of the garden which magically enhances the beauty of Shalimar Bagh.

7. Tulip Garden

Tulip Garden in Srinagar is the largest of its kind in Asia. It is located at the foothills of the Zabarwan range in Srinagar. It is home to about sixty variants of tulips. In full bloom, these tulips spread in 12 hectares of the area offers such a magical view.

It was built to enhance the tourism of Srinagar in the year 2007. One can even attend the annual festival that is organized in spring between March and May, but it fully depends on when the flowers bloom. 8. Hazratbal Shrine

Hazratbal Shrine is a white marbled dome structure and it is where the hair strand of Prophet Mohammed is preserved. It is a prominent place for the followers of Islam. The dome and the minaret showcase the influence of Mughal architecture whereas the shrine showcases Kashmiri architecture.

9. Kheer Bhawani Temple

Kheer Bhawani Temple is located in the Tulla Mulla village near Srinagar and is devoted to the goddess Bhawani- an incarnation of goddess Parvati. This beautiful temple is a holy temple for the Kashmiri Pandits. Here the kheer is offered to the deity and therefore this temple is known as Kheer Bhawani.

One can witness the sacred water spring that is auspicious. This serene temple is all enveloped by marvelous Chinar trees. Witness the pretty stones that are all covered on the perimeter of the temple. Visit this splendid place as this place has it all to take one to another world.

10. Chashme Shahi
