1. Kempty Fall

One of the famous tourist attractions, Kempty Fall is truly loved by the travelers visiting Mussoorie. Kempty Fall is surrounded by high mountain cliffs and is nestled at an altitude of almost 4500ft above sea level. This place is quite famous as a picnic spot and is crowded throughout the year. Just have a good bath under the fall and do not miss enjoying boating in the nearby man-made pond.

Make sure to explore the terrain of Kempty falls by the means of its ropeway. The ropeway takes one over the lush green mountains and offers one to enjoy a bird’s eye view of the pretty Dehradun-Mussoorie trail. Plan a trip during the summer season between March and June when the weather is salubrious.

2. Company Garden

On your next trip to Mussoorie make sure to visit the Company garden or Municipal Garden, one of the most popular attractions. The well-maintained garden is the perfect place for a family get-together. Enjoy sitting or strolling which is in itself a very soothing thing to do. Do not miss to enjoy boating that is done in an artificial pond. Visit the amusement park inside the Company garden where one can enjoy various rides that are quite exciting.

3. Bhatta Falls

One of the famous picnic spots, Bhatta Falls in Mussoorie is indeed the most visited tourist place. Bhatta Falls is counted as one of the best waterfalls in Mussoorie. The natural waterfall cascades down into a circular pool.

Make sure to visit this place and enjoy swimming and bathing.  This place has some small eateries where one can enjoy lip-smacking food. This place also has a children’s park that has swings where the children can engage themselves.

4. Cloud’s  End

Make sure to head towards Cloud’s End for capturing the breathtaking views of the Aglar River Valley. This place marks the geographical end of the pretty hilltown of Mussoorie and is surrounded by thick oak and deodar forest. One can find a heritage building at this place that was set up by a Britisher in 1838 that is one of the oldest buildings in Mussorie and is now converted into a heritage hotel- Clouds End Forest Resort.

Make sure to stay at this resort and take part in the thrilling activities like hiking, hill climbing and nature walks that are arranged by the hotel on request. One can club the visit to Cloud’s End with the popular attractions nearby- Jwala Devi temple and Benong Wildlife Sanctuary.

5. Lal Tibba

6. Jharipani Falls

Jharipani is located just 6kms downhill from Mussoorie in the Jharipani village. After reaching a certain point by vehicle one needs to trek a good 1.5 kms to reach this waterfall.

It is a paradise for trekkers as the area around this stunning waterfall is amazing. Enjoy a picnic here with your loved ones and witness the peace and tranquillity of this place. Spot some varied species of wildflowers, creepers and shrubs that are found in abundance near this waterfall. This place is known for its spectacular view of the Shivalik range,

7. Gun Hill

Gun Hill is the second-highest point in Mussoorie and is nestled at an altitude of 2024 meters. It provides a 360-degree view of the spectacular Himalayan ranges- Bunderpunch, Srikantha, Pithwara and Gangotri group, so capture the astounding view of the snow-clad Himalayan ranges from the top of Gun Hill.

Gun Hill is situated 400 ft above the Mall Road and is accessible by cable cars. Make sure to enjoy the cable car ride and witness the astonishing views of the distant hills and green landscapes.

8. Camel’s Back Road

Camel’s Back Road is located in the heart of Mussoorie and is a good 3kms long road lined with natural rocks that are in the shape of a camel’s hump. Just take a long walk along this road and explore the beauty of this place. There is around 180 years old British Cemetery that catches visitor’s eyes while walking at Camel Backroad. For those who are not able to do long walks auto-rickshaws and horse, rides are available.

9. Sir George Everest House

Sir George Everest House is perched on top of a cliff overlooking the exotic Mussoorie valley. This house was constructed in the year 1832 and is also known as Park House. Sir Geroge Everest owned this mountain house and spend 11 years living here and used this house as his observatory and laboratory.

10. The Mall Road

The famous Mall Road is located in the heart of Mussoorie. It is at a height of above 2000 meters. The Mall road is indeed the major attraction in Mussoorie. It stretches from Picture Palace at east to the Library at the west. This Mall road is a colonial relic with modern shops, video game parlours and skating rinks available for the kids. SBI building and Cambridge book store are some landmarks on this road.

One can find several local vendors around and also photographers who can click amazing photographs for you. It is indeed a prominent shopping location in Mussoorie. The shopaholics can go for all the items from woollen to wooden pretty handicrafts for house décor. Plan a visit and explore Mall road as it is one of the happening things to do.

11. Mussoorie Lake

Make sure to visit the artificial lake located at a distance of 6kms on the Mussoorie-Dehradun highway. 12. Library Bazar

Just stroll in the Library Bazaar that will take you back to the vintage times. The market oozes with gusto and radiates a colonial feel. Many tiny shops completely fit into the settlement and present a compressed pretty picture of the entire place. Enjoy the delicacies from the umpteen eateries, hotels, restaurants that one cannot afford to miss.

The market also has a big statue of Mahatama Gandhi in one corner. Library Bazaar is a haven for shopaholics. This market has a wide variety of mementoes, trinkets, junk jewellery, precious stones, carved wooden boxes, hand-knitted cardigans, pashmina shawls, brass statues, wall-hangings, Tibetan prayer wheels and many more items.

13. Christ Church

On your next visit to Mussoorie do not miss to visit the Christ Church that was constructed in the year 1836. Christ Church is considered to be one of the oldest churches in the Himalayan ranges by the British during the British colonization in India. Christ Church beautifully flaunts the Gothic design and architectural style. The walls and the interior are decorated in such a way that it grabs the attention of the visitors.

The stained glass windows represent the events in the life of Jesus Christ. The high altar in Christ Church presents the suffering of Jesus Christ. An old bible and musical instrument- William Hill Organ are the two most interesting aspects of the church but the instrument does not work now but brings the old-world appeal. Visit this church at the time of Christmas and experience a different charm altogether.

14. Tibetan Buddhist Temple

Do not miss visiting the beautiful Tibetan Buddhist temple or ShedupChoepelling temple located close to the IAS Academy. This temple is known for its tranquil atmosphere. One can find a large idol of Buddha under the open sky that is truly worth capturing.

The vibrantly coloured pillars and murals and prayer wheels adorn the temple structure. This shrine of Buddha is truly a fantastic place to meditate. After reaching Hathipaon one can go for treks and for camping trips too. The camping site of Hathipaon is located at a distance of around 6.5kms from the Library Chawk. This destination attracts nature lovers and adventure seekers.

16. Lake Mist

18. Benog Wildlife Sanctuary

Benog Wildlife Sanctuary is a part of the Rajaji National Park and is renowned for its almost-extinct mountain quails, deer, leopards and red-billed blue magpie. This sanctuary also houses medicinal plants. One can even encounter rare species of birds like White Capped Water Redstart, and Red-Billed Blue Magpie and some other exotic bird species.

This place is truly a paradise for bird watchers. Capture the astonishing views of the surrounding Chaukhamba and Bandarpunch peaks that are worth witnessing. One can even visit the Hathipaon estate and Cloud’s End that are famous tourist spots.
