Tapkeshwar temple is located in the proximity of 6.5 km from Dehradun. This is a cave temple that is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is situated on the bank of a river. The view of this place is so marvelous and it is also believed that once this gave belong to the famous Guru Dronacharya. This cave is also named Drona Cave. In the main Complex, a Shivling is enshrined and it is believed that this Shivalinga grants the wishes of all its devotees.
The miraculous thing about this place is that the water from the ceiling continuously trickles over The Shivalinga and this site is a very spectacle to watch. Pilgrims can also take a bath in cool Sulphur water which is located in a bath before the main entrance gate of the temple. It is one of the most prominent destinations in Uttarakhand that is visited by various devotees and tourists.

The literal meaning of Sahastradhara is “Thousandfold spring” which is one of the most prominent tourist attractions of Dehradun. Sahastradhara is located in the proximity of 14 km from Dehradun and attracts a large number of tourists who are here to admire the beauty of the waterfall in the Caves.
The Sahastradhara has multiple water pools where the water drops from limestone Stellar cities turn water into Sulphur springs. This water is believed to have a lot of medicinal and therapeutic value. This is a magnificent place which is having a tranquil environment and rich Himalayan vegetation. There is also a ropeway from where you can get an aerial view of mountains and also the economic view of Sahastradhara.

Robbers Cave is one of the most prominent picnic spots for young couples and families. This cave is located in proximity of 8 km from Dehradun center. And this place one can witness the magnification duty of caves and natural water bodies. Robber cave is also known as Guchhupani and has a cold spring of water inside a cave.
You can explore this cave and witness all the large and small waterfalls. This is the best place to be visited during the summer as the water is really cold which provides great relief from the scorching Sun. This is a newly emerging tourist destination of Dehradun and is named by Britishers as robbers cave but the local people called it Guchhupani.

The Buddha temple of Dehradun was constructed by Khochhen Rinpoche. This temple is famous for the Japanese style of architecture other than this there are well-maintained gardens with scenic ambiance. The wall of this Temple depicts the life and teachings of Buddha through various paintings and murals.
The Stupa has a height of 220 feeds and is one of the tallest in Asia also a 130 feet high Buddha statue is installed on the premises. This temple has five floors and the fourth floor is mainly accessible on Sundays from where you can have 360 views of Dehradun Valley. This temple is also having a library which is having all the generals and books related to Buddhism.

Malsi Deer Park is located in the foothills of the Shivalik range. This park is home to two-horned deer, peacocks, tigers, Neelgai, and many more. This park is rich in flora and fauna located away from the busy city life. This park has natural surroundings and a peaceful environment.
This park is like a mini Zoological Park which is surrounded by Malsi Forest Reserve. This Park is also having a children’s park which is equipped with all types of slides and a canteen. One can also enjoy bird watching at this place and capturing them with that camera. This Park remains open on all days of the week except Monday.

The Forest Research Institute of India is also known as FRI Dehradun. This Institute has a marvelous architecture with a wide collection of forestry-related items. There are 6 museums in this Forest Research Institute and is a must to visit the place of Dehradun.
This Institute was established in the year 1906 as an Imperial Forest Research Institute. The building has Greek-Roman architecture that was given by C.G. Blomfield in the year 1929. Clock Tower is one of the prominent landmarks of Dehradun city which is also known as Ghantaghar by the local people of Dehradun. This place has various commercial centers like shops and GPO. The clock tower is having 6 faces which have a clock in each phase and is a monument that was constructed much before Independence. The clock tower is located on Rajpur Road which has the name of freedom fighters engraved on a golden plaque and installed on the clock tower. The only unfortunate thing about this power is that the clocks are not working anymore.

Shri Guru Ram Rai Darbar Sahib is one of the spiritual spots located in Dehradun that was established during the 17th century. This Gurudwara is one of the oldest pilgrimage Centres for Sikhs in Dehradun and was constructed by Ram Rai who was the eldest son of 7 Sikh gurus Sri Har Raj Ji.
As per history, it is believed that Ram Rai was expelled from his town as he was not ready to take the position as a Sikh guru so he came to Dehradun the settle down and then he constructed this holy Gurudwara. The Gurudwara is having the Indo Islamic architecture with domes, paintings, and minarets. Mindrolling Monastery was constructed in 1965 and is one of the six monasteries of the Nyingma school of Buddhism. This monastery is located in the proximity of 12 km from the town and was constructed by Khochhen Rinpoche. This monastery has a stupa that stands 16 tall and is one of the tallest monasteries in the world.
Other than this there are a series of shrine rooms at this place having Tibetan art, murals, and relics. There is also a Sakyamuni Buddha statue which is 35 meters in height and is gold-plated. This statue is dedicated to the Dalai Lama.
This monastery is one of the largest Buddhist centers in the world and all the Buddhist Masters, teachers, and followers take this monastery as their inspiration to the practice of the profound Dharma of Vajrayana Buddhism.

This is an autonomous Research Institute of the Department of Science and Technology that was established in the year 1968 in June month. Initially, it was a small two-room Botany department in Delhi but later during the April month of 1976, the institute got shifted to Dehradun.
Previously this Institute was named as Institute of Himalayan Geology but again it was renamed as Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology. This Institute was founded by late professor D.N. Wadia. This Institute is recognized as a National Library that is well equipped with all the infrastructure facilities that are sufficient to do advanced-level research in the country itself.
Presently there are 54 scientists, 48 technical staff in this Institute, and also 76 administration staff. The institute has 40 research students Associates and other staff that are working on some of the other projects.

The Arrow Dine restaurant in Dehradun is India’s 7th and Uttarakhand’s first airplane restaurant. It is a multi-cuisine restaurant that opens on September 6. The inauguration of this restaurant was done by Mayor Sunil Uniyal. This is the first and one-of-a-kind restaurant in Uttrakhand. The plane has 180 seats and it is an Airbus A320. The seating capacity has been reduced to 75 but in recent times the owners are planning to make an open seating area on the wings of the airplane. It took almost one and a half years to set up an airplane into a restaurant.
