1. Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple

Tapkeshwar temple is located in the proximity of 6.5 km from Dehradun. This is a cave temple that is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is situated on the bank of a river. The view of this place is so marvelous and it is also believed that once this gave belong to the famous Guru Dronacharya. This cave is also named Drona Cave. In the main Complex, a Shivling is enshrined and it is believed that this Shivalinga grants the wishes of all its devotees.

The miraculous thing about this place is that the water from the ceiling continuously trickles over The Shivalinga and this site is a very spectacle to watch. Pilgrims can also take a bath in cool Sulphur water which is located in a bath before the main entrance gate of the temple. 2. Sahastradhara

The Sahastradhara has multiple water pools where the water drops from limestone Stellar cities turn water into Sulphur springs. 3. Robber's Cave

The Buddha temple of Dehradun was constructed by Khochhen Rinpoche. The Stupa has a height of 220 feeds and is one of the tallest in Asia also a 130 feet high Buddha statue is installed on the premises. 10. Mindrolling Monastery

Mindrolling Monastery was constructed in 1965 and is one of the six monasteries of the Nyingma school of Buddhism. This monastery is located in the proximity of 12 km from the town and was constructed by Khochhen Rinpoche. This monastery has a stupa that stands 16 tall and is one of the tallest monasteries in the world.

Other than this there are a series of shrine rooms at this place having Tibetan art, murals, and relics. There is also a Sakyamuni Buddha statue which is 35 meters in height and is gold-plated. This statue is dedicated to the Dalai Lama.

17. Wadia Institute Of Himalayan Geology

This is an autonomous Research Institute of the Department of Science and Technology that was established in the year 1968 in June month. Initially, it was a small two-room Botany department in Delhi but later during the April month of 1976, the institute got shifted to Dehradun.

Previously this Institute was named as Institute of Himalayan Geology but again it was renamed as Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology. This Institute was founded by late professor D.N. Wadia. This Institute is recognized as a National Library that is well equipped with all the infrastructure facilities that are sufficient to do advanced-level research in the country itself.

Presently there are 54 scientists, 48 technical staff in this Institute, and also 76 administration staff. The institute has 40 research students Associates and other staff that are working on some of the other projects.
