In the periphery of Manali, about 27 km away is a village named Gulaba The village is named after Raja Gulab Singh of Kashmir who happened to camp here. The village is on the Leh-Manali highway. The area is covered with snow for six months in winter that starts in November. It is famous for sightseeing. Skiing is a popular sport here in winter. The meandering Beas river, meadows, and breathtaking snow-covered mountains give the place a majestic and charming aura. Other adventure sports are also undertaken in the area.
