1. Nanda Devi National Park

This national park is well known for its mountain wilderness and was established in 1982. In 1988 UNESCO declared Nanda Devi national park a world heritage site. It is the second-highest peak of India and it has unique soil and climate which provides different habitats, species, and communities.

Due to the beautiful surroundings like Brahma kamal and blue mountain goat of this national park, it gives a stunning sanctuary of nature. This national park is surrounded by mighty Himalayan peaks like; Dungagiri, Nanda Devi, etc. The Nanda Devi sanctuary of this national park is divided into two parts; the outer and inner.

2. Joshimath

Joshimath is a sacred place for Hindus, also known as Jyotirmath. It is located in the Chamoli district at 6000 feet above sea level. Adi Shankaracharya established four maths in different parts of India and Joshimath is one of them and was established in the 8th Century. The Kalpvirksha can be seen here, the oldest tree of India and believed to be 1200 years old.

3. Chattrakund Lake

It is a sweet water lake, located at 3300m above sea level and at a distance of 4km from Auli. Chattrakund lake is situated in the middle of the jungle. In summers the crystal clear water of this lake reflects the blue sky that increased the beauty of the lake. For honeymooners and peace lovers, this lake will definitely be a good option to visit. 

4. Gurso Bugyal

One can reach this beautiful after the trekking of 3km from Auli. Gurso Bugyal is covered with oak trees, coniferous and green pastures. The graceful views during the trial will add more pleasure in trekking to this place.

5. Artificial Lake

It is one of the highest artificial lakes in the world. The lake was built to provide snow for skiing when the snow gets scarce. Apart from it, this lake offers more attraction to Auli. In winter it is covered with snow that gives it a different luster while in summer it is surrounded by the green landscape which is worth spending some time here with your friends or family.

This lake offers a calm and peaceful place that compelled tourists to spend some time. Watching sunrise and sunset from this lake is really awesome, it gives a different feel as it is a quiet experience to watch the sunrise from the highest artificial lake. This artificial lake is a good location for those who want peace and spend their time with nature.
