1. Punalur

The beautiful Punalur is nestled along the border of Tamil Nadu and Kerala in the district of Kollam. 5. Thangassery

Thangassery is situated almost 5kms from the main town of Kollam. It is a place of high historical significance. This place is home to numerous old churches that are believed to be constructed in the 18th century. One can even witness here the 144ft high lighthouse that was constructed in 1902. 6. Munroe Island

The Munroe Island is also called as Mundrothuruthu. It is a picturesque island located at the confluence of the river Kallada and Lake Ashtamudi in the district of Kollam. Visit this splendid island to observe the coir retting process and the weaving of coir. Indulge in bird watching and fishing here. It is indeed one of the best destinations to explore in Kollam.

7. Kulathupuzha

Kulathupuzha is a beautiful town situated at a distance of about 64kms from Kollam. This town flaunts its Sastha temple located on the banks of the river Kulathupuzha. This temple is devoted to Lord Vishnu. April and May are the perfect time to visit this place as the Vishnu Mahotsava takes place. Head towards the Indo Swiss dairy farms that are just 9kms away and is one of the best places to visit here.
