1. Ponnumthuruthu

Ponnumthuruthu is also known as the Golden Island and is situated at a distance of around 20kms from Varkala. It is famed for its 100 years old Shiva Parvathi temple situated amidst thick coconut groves stretched over the sandy beaches. One can take a 30 minutes boat ride from Nedunganda to Ponnumthuruthu.

2. Varkala Cliff

Varkala cliff is a geologically major site in Varkala. The cliff is formed by laterite and overlooks the Varkala beach. 3. Varkala Lighthouse

The stunning Varkala Lighthouse was constructed in the year 1684 by the British to assist the navigation of ships coming from Britain. 4. Kappil Beach
