Another place to explore is the Basistha Ashram- dedicated to Guru Vashishta who was a renowned sage in Hindu mythology. Guru Vashishta built this ashram by himself and resided here during his last days. One gets spellbound by the astonishing ambience and unique architecture of this place. Head towards the Sukreswar temple situated atop the Itakhuli hill. It provides beautiful views of the Brahmaputra river and the valley below. This pretty temple is devoted to the Hindu god Shiva and was built in 1744.
